No mess of dirt. No heavy root ball to weigh you down. The willow and poplar trees in our replant kits are planted as bare root stems and, when well cared fore, will see amazing growth. In fact, our trees can grow up to 1 foot per month!

How We Know it Works
In 1982… Ecolotree met the unique physiology of poplar and willow.

Deep rooting — possible by planting a bare stem. Poplar and willow have preformed root initials in the bark.
Fast growing — stem grows fast and farther as roots expand
Tough — the Derecho in Iowa brought winds over 100mph, breaking off locust, hickory, oak, etc. Poplar and willow bent and lost some branches but the roots didn’t break subsurface.
Disease resistant — virus (canker) that killed the old poplar wind breaks no longer apply. Trees sold by Ecolotree have been selected from 57 species tested for resistance.

Attractive and neighborly — Poplar and willow trees can be planted densely, pruned, thinned and shaped, and interplanted with conifer, native hardwoods and grasses to create attractive landscapes.
